Library & Bookshelf
Reading is a huge part of my life—but it hasn't always been. I struggled as a teen and young adult to find the joy in it. It wasn't until around the age of twenty-six and in the throws of a major depression, when my escapism and fear can be at its height, that I learned to turn to books as the easiest, healthiest, and most reliable form of immediate freedom and growth.
Now, I usually float 2-3 titles at any given time: usually across both fiction and non. And, I thought I'd use this page to share where I'm currently at.
WHAT I AM CURRENTLY READING:
BE 2.0 by Jim Collins & Bill Lazier
A word about it...
I totally listen to the pings of The Universe and she's been pinging me about Jim Collins for nearly five years. From creative clients to coaching pupils, audience Q&A, and even just random colleagues—everyone has asked me, "Have you read any Jim Collins?" And, when I've said No, a number of people have called me out in shock—"Wow, you should."
This is a big ass book. It's thick and it's wordy and, somewhat unfortunately, it needs to be in order to do what the book was creatively designed to do. You'll see, its essentially two books: Jim and Bill first wrote Beyond Entrepreneurship some years ago and Jim knew the work needed to be updated so he added content using a pretty cool coloring system for the pages that carry the original content in the physical version of the book and similarly, for the audio version, he's enlisted the support of a co-narrator.
I am listening to this one and it's likely going to take me some time. Truth be told, work has me in a terrible place right now (mentally)—I'm so frustrated and completely depleted, over-extending myself to what seems like a million different commitments. But, I'm excited to be diving in to the content so many around me feel they know will resonate if not complement my existing professional practice.

And, because I'm an juggler, I'm also reading The Heart of the Buddah's Teaching (which I am so excited about!) and Shuggie Bain. You should join me there too, they're both great!
